I really enjoy reading Theodora's works. I honestly do, and was super excited about this new book since I've read almost all of the 50 states books. Now, maybe I didn't notice or maybe it was posted after I already pre-ordered this one, but the disclaimer about it including Three bonus books (Players in love) totally went past me. I was so stoked and ready to settle into reading a nice lengthy novel about this couple, that I did find interesting, different, and quite frankly hot. But, at 15% on my kindle. The story was over, I was totally bummed. I could have read a lot more about this couple, even if the ending was the same, I needed more from these two. The time jump towards the end should have been fleshed out and written about. I would have loved to read how they manage that crisis. Because that was clearly off plan. The birth of the baby would have been nice to read about as well, including how the family rallied around this couple... Etc, etc, etc. I also love reading the males perspective, and I can only imagine that hearing from Go directly would have been awesome. Just the initial thanksgiving scene alone... I mean, what was he thinking? I had a feeling he didn't hate her as much as it seemed, but still. Also, when he had that talk with his family and Marco and they were supporting his plan, I mean... How did that go down?Basically, I loved this story and especially this unconventional alpha and female lead, and it pains me to give it just 3 stars, cause based on what I've read from this AMAZING writer, I expected a hell of a lot more. It could have been a hell of a lot more, just cause of how complex they were as individuals. There was more story here, and I'm sad we don't get to hear more from/about them PRE Japan.

Theodora Taylor created something special, when she introduces Rodrigo and Nyla!! Go as he was called by everyone who knew him was highly intelligent tech billionaire who found Nyla to be the one upon meeting her at a family get together. The only problem she was his brother's girlfriend but Go didn't let that stop him. I have not read many books where the lead characters different or not main stream. The hero is hot but he's not typical alpha male. The female lead is sister but she is not the typical sister, not ghetto but not like woman I know either. It took to me a minute to warm up to Go, but I found myself firmly on team Go by the end of the book. Nyla annoyed me at first but as I kept reading I found something to like about her. She was strong and she faked being comfortable in her skin until she actually was. Loved this two characters, however one character had my spidey sense tingling since the first moment she was introduced. Sophia made my teeth itch and I was glad when she was introduced to karma!! Excellent writing Ms. Taylor! !
Normally after finishing a book, I just use the feature on my app to post a star rated review. However, after reading this book and the other compilations included I had to do a little more. His Pretend Baby, was definitely different and now one of my favs because of the way that the Author approached sensory perception disorders. The fact that she included the use of a weighted blanket in there impressed the heck out of me..something so simple but it told me that this Author always take her work serious and I have yet to read something she wrote that I didn't like. The following stories just added to the package. Not one of the following stories disappointed me. They all kept my attention and included topics or plots that weren't necessarily typical but you found yourself in some way being able to relate to the main characters. They also intertwined with each other without taking away from the previous story. This bundle was definitely a bonus buy. If you are looking for something satisfying to read that it truly a bargain.....one click now!!!!!
This is my first book by Theodora Taylor. I'd first gotten it through Unlimited and was told by several friends that this was a book that I should be reading. So, I started reading it last night and couldn't put it down. I had to read it straight through and was sad to be done but at the same time so in love with Nyla and Go.
What can I even begin to say about Go Gutierrez? He's brooding, moody, sexy, nerdy and ever so passionate. All the things a girl wants and needs. The one thing I loved about him is that he was different as well. I loved how the author made him an Alpha but he is different from any Alpha I've seen written with the fact that he has sensory processing issues. These issues of his and the issues that the heroine had fit together perfectly and made them a wonderful match. I love flaws, we all have them. Go knew he was flawed and made no excuses and Nyla knew of her own flaws as well. They accepted each other as is and didn't wish to change each other. What a plus!
I will not give away the ending but my heart was in my throat and I cried and pushed on...because I cared about them as characters so much.
I will definitely be reading more from this author. After finishing the book I loved it so much I purchased the copy so I can re-read it whenever I want.
Theodora please...please give Go and Nyla another story. One longer...I loved their chemistry!
Not to give anything away, but when first reading "His Pretend Baby," Go is righteously thought to be "a little bit out there" due to his Asperger's, Nyla because of her facial piercings, her hair, her clothes...ok, you see where I'm going with this? Anyway, Nyla and Marco (yes, "Russian Surrender" Marco the cop) have gotten together for a year, break up, Marco gets a "normal" girl Sophia, gets drunk, has a one night stand with Nyla who gets knocked up, then he gets killed by a drunk driver! Whew!!!! In comes Go--Rodrigo, robotics billionaire, with a decent proposal for Nyla. And the story unfolds....LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!
